If SVG is an option, it would be great to use also own libraries up to individual svg (like this wish: https://uxthemes.canny.io/flatsome/p/basic-svg-support-like-icon-box). So if you have a small page you don’t need the whole load of a (or more) complete lib., instead you can upload your optimized svg-/icon-collection.

A great solution would be a mix of (modern) custom use and available libraries for quick usage.
